30th Anniversary Updates
*Update: The Gala has been canceled, but The Foundation for JA will be considering another way to celebrate 30 years!
The 2023-2024 school year marks 30 years since Jefferson Academy Charter School was founded! JA began as an idea in April 1993 by a group of parents wishing to become proactive in their children‘s education. In May 1994, JA was approved by the Jefferson County Board of Education, making it one of the first charter schools in Colorado. To read more about our history, click here.
To celebrate 30 years, The Foundation for JA will be hosting a 30th Anniversary Gala on Saturday January 27, 2024 at The Establishment in Broomfield. Details and tickets will be available in just a few weeks, so keep an eye out- you won’t want to miss it! If you’re interested in joining a planning committee, there is still time. Complete this interest form and the Foundation will reach out to you wit5h information. Aside from joining a committee, we are looking for sponsors and donors for the event. If you or your company are interested in donating an item to the silent auction, donating financially to the event costs, or sponsoring a table for teachers, please contact Tiffany Blakley, CEC, at tblakley@jajags.com. It takes many hands and resources for an amazing event like this, and we appreciate any and all assistance that is offered.
In addition to the gala, the Foundation has put together monthly spirit days, on or around the 30th of each month, to celebrate our 30th anniversary across campuses. August 30th was JA colors & logowear day. Staff and students rocked their black and gold attire or JA swag. Today, September 30th, is Dress Like It’s 1993 Day, where staff and students pull out their best 90’s attire. The rest of the spirit day themes will be released soon and we know our Jags will go all out to show their school spirit!
Lastly, the Foundation has started planning additional 30th anniversary events in order to fundraise for the gala. Save the date for October 30th and November 30th. On October 30th from open to close, visit 5280 BURGER BAR in Bradburn, mention JA, and 5280 will donate 20% of the proceeds to the Foundation for the 30th Anniversary Gala. In-person dining and online orders count, so plan on 5280 for lunch or dinner! On November 30th from 4-7pm, Urban Air Adventures Westminster will host our JA/Summit Spirit Night. Come jump and raise money for the gala! 20% of sales will be donated to the Foundation for gala, and JA & Summit families get exclusive Spirit Night pricing: $26.99 Platinum Attractions, $20.99 Ultimate Attractions, $16.99 Deluxe Attractions. We hope to see you there for a fun K-12 fundraising event.
