Elementary Highlight: JA Thrives Awards
Staff wrote positively about their colleagues and the following teachers were presented with the JA winners of the Jeffco Thrives Awards. These winners will be entered into the district Thrives Awards. Congrats to the JA winners, and to all staff that were nominated. We recognize that ALL of our staff members are incredible and deserving of praise for their hard work and dedication to our students.
Integrity Winner - Erin Heighway
With unwavering commitment, Erin upholds the highest standards of professional conduct and honesty. Trust is the cornerstone of her actions, enhancing organizational effectiveness, Erin's consistency in matching words with actions, meeting commitments, taking responsibility, and maintaining professionalism defines her as a true leader of integrity. She sets a stellar example for our school and community.
Equity Winner - Lauren Mattie
Lauren seeks out the best way to support all students in her classroom. She goes above and beyond to communicate with parents and other staff members on how to best support all students. She spends a great amount of time talking one-on-one and developing relationships with all of her students, no matter their differences. She truly believes in ALL of her students!
Focus on Students Winner - RJ Everett
RJ exemplifies this award in a way that most can only hope for. He has a powerful ability to see kids as they are and meet them where they are. RJ's insight, patience, and authenticity have earned him a permanent place in the heart of every student he teaches. He has a gift for bringing out the best in ALL of his students. Everything he does is for the betterment of his students.
Excellence Winner - Bri Alley
Bri Alley is AMAZING!! She is excellent to work with because she is so well organized, efficient, and instructionally strong in the classroom. Bri is such a hard worker and her work ethic brings others up to her level. She never criticizes others who may not have her gifts for planning and execution; instead, she simply leads by example and makes room for everyone around her to be their best while maintaining her own level of excellence. She is a servant leader. As a team lead, she has set the standard of excellence.
Belonging Winner - Betsy Smith
Mrs. Smith has one of the biggest hearts we have ever seen. She makes everyone feel special and is our team's go to hugger. She will listen to anyone when they are upset or happy. She makes you feel like you can tell her anything and she will not judge, or share what you say to anyone else. She is an incredible teacher that loves her students fiercely, an amazing teammate that provides a safe spot for all of us, and just an awesome person!
