Community Cares Initiatives and Results

At the heart of The Foundation for JA, the Community Cares program is a beacon of hope and support for families within the JA and Summit communities. Every December, the Holiday Care Package initiative comes to life, offering support to families in need during the festive season. Under the guidance of our Community Engagement Coordinator, Tiffany Blakley, families can discreetly submit their holiday wishes and urgent needs, ranging from children's gift requests to essential bills that require attention.

This past year, the outpouring of generosity from our community was truly remarkable. With 42 families bravely sharing their wishes, encompassing 110 children and 80 adults, our community rallied together to fulfill every single request and beyond. Thanks to the collective spirit of giving, a staggering $37,931.18 worth of donations poured in, ranging from toys, clothes, electronics, gift cards, to crucial bill payments. The impact of these contributions cascaded through our community, fostering moments of warmth and joy during the holiday season.

However, the spirit of Community Cares extends far beyond December. Alongside the Holiday Care Package initiative, the ongoing needs program has been launched to serve families throughout the year. This empowering initiative allows families to voice their needs whenever they arise, not just during the holiday season. Through a shared spreadsheet similar to the one used for the care package drive, community members can step in to offer support, signifying the enduring bond that holds our community together.
