Parent/Guardian Survey - The survey will be sent to all families on Tuesday, February 18 The survey will end on February 28. Your response is important in understanding your student’s experience at JA. We are looking to receive a 100% response rate this year, and your feedback is greatly appreciated.
Parent/teacher conferences - Classroom teachers will be sending out a link to sign up for conferences on Tuesday . Conferences will be held on Thursday, March 6 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Friday, March 7 from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Students do not have school on Friday, March 7.
6th grade Core Knowledge Connections - 6th graders have been preparing a dramatic reading presentation of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar for the past several weeks. They will be presenting this to the 3rd grade classes. These will take place following the February, President's Weekend break. Each 6th grade class will present to a specific 3rd grade class during their regularly scheduled CKC specials' time. Below is the schedule. Due to capacity, families cannot attend. Everyone has a specific part to play and we need students to arrive on time that day! Thank you very much!

Code Camp - Saturday, February 22nd, from 12:45 to 3:45 pm, the Jefferson Academy Secondary Computer Science Honor Society is hosting a "Code Camp" for 3rd and 4th graders. At this event, students will learn computer science skills such as coding, circuits, graphic design, and more. It will be an excellent learning opportunity for students interested in computer science or to build interest in computer science. If your student is interested in attending Code Camp, please complete this form: https://forms.gle/RrHtqc8KncHLt8YV9. We are limited to 50 student attendees and the form will automatically close when we are full. The cost is $5 which will help us provide a snack and materials. Payment options will be emailed after sign up. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Jennifer Davis, the Computer Science Honor Society sponsor, at jdavis@jajags.com.
Book Fair is Back- Book Fair is Thursday, March 6 and Friday, March 7, in the Conservatory. (Books can be purchased on-line from February 27 - March 12). Please help us as we raise funds to purchase new books for the Library and our classrooms! If you want to help with the Book Fair, please sign up here. We look forward to seeing you!

Family Movie Night & WatchJAGS Pizza Party Kick-off - Friday, February 21, the JA PTO would like to cordially invite all Pre-K, Kindergarteners, 1st and 2nd Graders and their immediate family members (yes, older and younger siblings are also invited) to join us for the DreamWorks movie, Wild Robot. This time around we are combining our Movie Night with our WatchJAGS second semester Kick-off so Pizza will be provided for all who sign up and attend. The event is FREE, however an RSVP is required, as space is limited to the first 150 people to sign-up. (Don't worry 3rd - 6th grade families - we are planning a pizza & movie night for you coming up in March!)
Community Social Dine-Out - Our next Dine-Out will be ALL DAY on Tuesday, February 25 at the MOD Pizza located at 6415 W. 104th Ave. 25% of sales will be returned to JA PTO. Check out the flyer for all the information. Order online using the fundraiser code MODGIVES25 or head to the restaurant in person and show the flyer or mention Jefferson Academy PTO.
Yearbook Ordering Deadline - This is the LAST month to buy a yearbook! Sales will close on Friday, February 28th and will not re-open. Make sure to get your copy before it's too late! Not sure if you've ordered your yearbook(s) yet - head over to the site to check the "Participants" list.
Yearbook Survey - Please help out the Yearbook Club by filling out this very brief poll about student life at JA! We are including surveys, opinions, and quotes again this year to make our yearbook more interesting. We need as many responses as possible! Please fill out once for each student in your household and make sure you click "submit" at the end.
Volunteer Hours Reporting - Have you attended a PTO meeting, helped plan or cook for a class-sponsored breakfast, assisted in planning a classroom holiday party or otherwise volunteered outside of school hours? If so, please be sure to report any time spent volunteering for Jefferson Academy Elementary during non-school hours using this simple Volunteer Hours Reporting Form. Time contributed during school hours are recorded in the RAPTOR system at school - this is only for non-school time hours. Your volunteer time matters! Support JA's strategic plan by reporting your hours!
