Survey - The School Accountability Committee has crafted a brand new parent and caregiver survey this year with busy families in mind. The survey will take only five minutes (or less) to complete and in turn will give the board and the school as a whole, valuable information about the successes and opportunities we have. SAC will also be hosting a daily spirit wear giveaway for those that complete the survey. Your school board is asking for full participation so that we can continue to ensure greatness in all of our schools. The survey will be open through 2/28. Here is the link (survey).

Parent/teacher conferences -  Classroom teachers sent out a signup for conferences earlier this week.  Conferences will be held on Thursday, March 6  from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday is a full day of school.  Conferences on Friday, March 7 from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Students do not have school on Friday, March 7.

Makeup Work Policy - Per District policy JH, makeup work will be provided for any class in which a student has an excused absence. It is the student's responsibility to pick up any makeup assignments on the day he or she returns to class.  There will be two days allowed for makeup work for each day of excused absence.  Makeup work will be allowed following an unexcused absence with the goal of providing the student an opportunity to keep up with the class and as an incentive to attend school.

At JA Elementary, parents may request work during an absence; work may be sent home with a sibling/friend, or parents may pick up work at the designated table in the Commons at the end of the day.  (Please call by 9:00 a.m. or request in Campus Portal when submitting the absence.)  For a known or pre-arranged absence (ex:  vacation), students will receive makeup work when they return.

Book Fair -  Thursday, March 6 and Friday, March 7,  in the Conservatory. (Books can be purchased on-line from February 27 - March 12). Please help us as we raise funds to purchase new books for the Library and our classrooms!    If you want to help with the Book Fair, please sign up here. We look forward to seeing you!

D & D Club! - Calling all 4th-6th graders, it’s not too late to  join JA’s Dungeons & Dragons club! The club offers your child a unique opportunity to develop creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in a fun and imaginative environment that is screen free! Through storytelling and role-playing, students enhance their critical thinking and communication abilities, all while building friendships and working together to achieve goals. The game fosters a sense of community, encourages positive social interaction, and allows kids to explore their creativity in a safe, inclusive setting. Plus, it's an engaging way for them to practice math and reading without even realizing it...and it's free! Reserve your spot HERE. Numbers are limited and spots are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis through the Google Form.
